If you have had difficulty tuning your drums the DrumDial is an excellent tool to get you started. This ends the guessing that typically occurs when tuning drums the old fashioned way. This results in an even tone that can be adjusted easily while remaining consistently even. What the DrumDial provides is the precise measurement required to equally apply tension all the way around the drumhead. By simply moving the DrumDial around the outer edge of the head while tweaking each tension rod to the exact number I was able to match each lug perfectly. What impressed me was the speed and ease at which I was able to tune the drums consistently all the way around. Not too high which typically happens with smaller toms. ![]() The rack tom was tuned up to 75 (recommended 72-78) and had a nice tone. The snare sounded crisp and had a nice crack. Positioning the DrumDial on the head I was able to torque the head up to 85, which is the recommended tension (85-90) according to the DrumDial Tuning Chart that is available online.
